Contemporary Art Photography
Artist Statement –
I am a fine art photographer specializing in both landscape and studio photography. My artistic practice is driven by an ongoing exploration of boundaries visual, conceptual, and philosophical. I seek to understand and challenge the fundamental distinctions between subjects, spaces, and states of being.
What fascinates me most in photography is its ability to transform the familiar into the unfamiliar to take reality as we know it and push it toward the surreal. I work with real-world scenes, often manipulating them through digital techniques, to decontextualize the subject matter and invite viewers into an altered reality. This process enables me to infuse everyday moments with new and unexpected meaning, allowing imagination and perception to take center stage.
My work is rooted in the belief that photography is not just a tool for documentation, but a powerful medium for philosophical inquiry and emotional reflection. Through the lens, I create images that serve as visual metaphors poetic spaces where the concrete and the abstract merge. I strive to evoke in the viewer a moment of pause, a sense of ambiguity, and a freedom to interpret each piece in a personal way.
By stripping scenes of their original context and reassembling them within surreal compositions, I create a dialogue between what is seen and what is felt. I aim to transport the audience into a space that is simultaneously mine and theirs a shared landscape of imagination, memory, and introspection.
Born in Jerusalem - 1965
1983-1986 - military service as a photographer and photo lab worker. (Step 09). Air force.
1986-1988 - professional photography studies, Hadassah academy , Jerusalem, Israel
1989-1992 - work and live in New York, work as a freelancer for commercial customers. Specialized in portrait photography.
1992 - Returned to Israel and work as a professional photo lab management, Tel - Aviv. Israel
1993 - freelance photographer, lives and works in Herzliya and Tel Aviv. Israel
Since 1992 a member of the Professional Photographers of Israel.
Since 1998 private photo workshops management.
1998-2000 work for "Nature Protection Society" and the official photographer of the project "Nature Born" cooperation Tnuva.
Since 2000 member - WDPA (World Dog Press Association).
